Hyperglycemia (High Blood Sugar)

Hyperglycemia is a blood sugar level above your child's target range. It's  expected that some blood sugars will be above or below target at times, but the goal is to have at least 75% of blood sugar tests within target range.

The following video explains what causes high blood sugar, symptoms to be aware of, and how to treat it. It also discusses a dangerous condition called diabetic ketoacidosis (D.K.A.) which can occur if high blood sugars are not corrected.
