What is OpenSpecimen?

OpenSpecimen is a comprehensive Bio-banking (bio-repository) LIMS platform to collect, store, process, annotate and distribute bio-specimens.

University of Massachusetts installation of OpenSpecimen:

UMass Chan Medical School deploys OpenSpecimen application for use by our researchers and their team members.

The OpenSpecimen application is accessed only through the graphical user interface and is LDAP and password protected. Please contact OpenSpecimen support for information related to cost of usage and more.

What are the eligibility criteria?

To get started with using OpenSpecimen, submit a request for consultation to OpenSpecimen support team using the "Contact Us" page on the top. 

  • Qualified personnel who are UMass Chan Medical School employees.
  • You must be part of the study where the PI has an UMass Chan Medical School IRB approved Protocol for the study.
