Financial Aid

MD/PHD students are supported with a waiver of tuition and an annual stipend for the duration of their time in both the MD and PHD program. Students are also provided with health, dental and disability insurance for themselves. The stipend is awarded to students who matriculate into the program. An internal transfer does not receive the stipend, only tuition waivers and payment of fees, until they begin graduate school. 

The Financial Aid Office at UMass Chan Medical School administers Federal and institutional student loans and gift aid for the UMass Chan Medical School, the Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and the Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing. Additionally, the Financial Aid Office collects campus-based loans and the medical school Learning Contract. To be eligible for financial assistance, students must be accepted for admission or enrolled in good standing and making satisfactory academic progress.
