Create an Image Gallery

The Image Gallery block allows editors to display images, uploaded to the CMS, in a gallery format. Viewers can click on an image to see a larger view as well as click through the gallery like a slider or play like a slider.

Before creating this block, there are 2 steps:

  1. Create a folder, in your site's media assets in the CMS, and upload the images to the new folder
  2. Edit the images and ensure all images have the ALT description filled in, this is for accessiblity

Create a new block

In a dropblock area on your page, or under your folder in the block pane, create a new block

  • Choose Image Gallery block

Editing the Block 

  • Listing Settings tab
    • in OPTION 1 - media folder, click Select Content button and pick your media folder that contains the image you wish to display, or drag and drop the folder from the media assets pane.

      Optional properties
    • The Sort By can be set or leave it default to the order of the images in the media folder
    • Change the Sort Order if you wish to reverse the order
    • The list of images can be filtered if they have been tagged with taxonomy categories
  • Content tab
    • a title can be added which displays above the gallery
    • a description can be added which displays above the gallery

On a content page, add the new image gallery block to a drop block area. The width of the block can be changed if needed, see:
