Tools for Clinical Research

EpicEpic is the UMass Memorial electronic health record system. Primary access for research purposes is through the Data Core, and all access for research requires signed authorization from the patient or an IRB approved HIPAA waiver of authorization.  MyChart is a web portal for patients that is offered by most Epic healthcare organizations. Best Practice Advisory (BPA) is Epic's decision support tool. Both MyChart and BPAs can aid investigators in patient recruitment to clinical research.  If you are interested in leveraging any of the Epic functionalities for research, please request a consultation.
