Research Focus - Mammalian SWI/SNF Enzymes as Drivers of Cancer

  • BRG1 regulation of nuclear shape and genome organization
  • Elevation in the expression of the BRG1 chromatin remodeling enzyme without mutation in breast, prostate, and other cancer types
  • BRG1 regulation of cancer-specific metabolism
  • BRG1 mediation of drug-induced upregulation of ABC transporters that are responsible for drug resistance
  • Inhibition of the ability of BRG1 to promote breast and prostate cancer by targeting BRG1 by knockdown or with small molecules
