Involving young adults in the development and implementation of mental health services is becoming a popular strategy, but young adult involvement needs to be meaningful in order to prove effective. This presentation shared effective practices for the meaningful involvement of young adults to help participants increase young adult involvement in their own organizations. Areas of potential young adult involvement that were described include:

• treatment/service planning and decision-making,
• partnering with youth to produce system and service change,
• peer-worker roles (e.g. peer mentors/specialists), and
• participatory research and evaluation.
