RECENT SEMINARS & LECTURES

The Sexual and Gender Minority Public Health Research Group meets Tuesdays at 3pm (Zoom link on request: william.jesdale@umassmed.edu).
We are both a journal club that explores emerging methods in intersectionality and public health, gender minority (transgender, non-binary, etc.) and sexual minority (bisexual, lesbian, gay, queer, pansexual, asexual, etc.) health, and producers of original research in collaboration with investigators from other universities. We are open to students from all three schools (Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Nursing & Medicine), staff, and faculty.

2016-2017 CPHR Lectures and Seminars

Dr. Darren Toh of the Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School presented his research on Comparative Effectiveness Analyses on October 4th, 2016. Our student chapter also had a meet and greet with the speaker after the presentation.

Our ICPE student chapter met with Jay Kaufman of the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Occupational Health

McGill University over breakfast on Oct. 18th, 2016 to talk about careers and publishing.

Dr. Shirley Wang of the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics at Brigham and Women’s Hospital presented her research on Semi-Automated Active Surveillance Methods on November 1st, 2016. Our student chapter also had a meet and greet with the speaker after the presentation.

Dr. Theresa Shireman of the Department of Health Services, Policy and Practice at Brown University presented her research on Methodology for Tracking Medication Exposure Over Time on December 6th, 2016. Our student chapter also had a meet and greet with the speaker after the presentation.

Dr. Sarah Berry of the Department of Medicine Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School had a meet and greet on June 27th, 2017 with our ICPE student chapter to share experiences and exchange ideas regarding research in nursing home settings.

Quantitative Methods Core - 3rd Tuesdays Methods Workshops

The Department of Quantitative Health Sciences and the Quantitative Methods Core will conduct monthly workshops to explore statistical issues of general interest.

Bridge to Success Research in Progress Workgroup - 2nd Tuesday of the Month
This workgroup provides an informal setting for new and experienced researchers to share nascent ideas or research-in-progress and to receive just-in-time feedback.
