Muazzez Elif Sikoglu, PhD

Muazzez Elif Sikoglu, PhDM. Elif Sikoglu received her B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Isik University, Istanbul, Turkey and pursued her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Boston University, Boston, MA. She has worked as a graduate research assistant in Brain and Vision Research Laboratory and investigated visual motion perception using psychophysics, computational modeling and neuroimaging.

Dr. Sikoglu joined the Center for Comparative NeuroImaging, CCNI in 2011 as Dr. Constance Moore’s Post-doctoral Associate and she is involved in studies investigating psychiatric disorders, including mood disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Sikoglu employs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques including magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) to examine the brain metabolite levels and functional MRI to asses the resting state connectivity. Finally, she is also involved in behavioral and neuroimaging studies with animal models that will enable her to perform translational research in pre-clinical settings in addition to human studies.
