Beth Lovell, MD - Walden House Mentor

imageb5ewt.pngBeth Starr Lovell  was born and raised in Worcester, MA. She received a BA in French
Language and Literature from Brandeis University and received her medical degree
from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2000. She did her
residency in Emergency Medicine at Cooper Hospital in Camden, NJ, which was
affiliated with UMDNJ at the time and now is the site of Cooper Medical School of
Rowan University.

Beth is an Emergency Physician at Lahey Hospital Medical Center (part of BILH) in
Burlington, MA, as well as at Lahey Peabody. She is the director of Diversity, Equity
and Inclusion for the Department of Emergency Medicine at Lahey. She has earned a
certificate in Equity and Inclusion from eCornell and has participated in the Proximity
Project, a cohort experience for leaders who want to examine and improve how they
interact with and serve communities of color. She was given the 2014 Cooper
University Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine Teaching Attending of the Year
Award.

Beth lives in Brookline with her husband, son and dog. She sings alto in A Besere Velt,
the Yiddish community chorus of the Boston Workers Circle. She is an accomplished
knitter and baker and enjoys all things Star Wars (episodes IV-VIII).
