The mission of the Center for Infectious Disease and Vaccine Research is to conduct research in and training for the study of the molecular basis of human diseases caused by infectious agents and the development of safe and effective vaccines against these agents.

The Center also serves in an advisory capacity to the University of Massachusetts Biologic Laboratories.
