The Executive Leadership Committee meets monthly to review overall progress and to provide regular communication and coordination between the research and workforce development programs. Goals are to ensure that the workforce development programs are meeting their objectives and that they are synergizing with each other and the UMass institutional programs to advance career development. This Committee also provides a forum for initial evaluation of any new proposed workforce development programs.
The Operations Committee is made up of the Executive Leadership Committee and individual program leads. This group meets once a month to updated UMCCTS leadership, review data on core and program activities, and to solicit feedback on the day-to-day operations.
The External Advisory Committee conducts an annual review of UMCCTS plans and programs and advises UMCCTS leadership on the strategic direction for the Center.
Implemented in early 2014, the Strategic Product Development Committee (SPD) provides strategic oversight for the development of novel therapeutics, devices, and diagnostics based on UMass discoveries. It also identifies and provides resources for scientists to effectively navigate through the pipeline from discovery through Phase I, first-in-human clinical trials.
The Steering Committee comprised of the Executive Leadership Committee plus campus representatives serves as the internal advising body to the UMCCTS Director for center programs, services, and cores and as a forum for each of the Co-Directors to report on progress for each of the Center programs or components. The Steering Committee also serves as the Scientific Review Committee for the Life Sciences Moment Fund pilot grants.
