Nathan Gioacchini
Nathan grew up in Methuen, MA and received his BS in Biotechnology from UMass Lowell in 2014. He joined UMass Chan Medical School as a PhD candidate in Dr. Craig Peterson’s lab to investigate the biochemical mechanism of the chromatin remodeling enzyme SWR1C. After completing his PhD, he spent two years at Foghorn as a protein scientist in their drug discovery group. Nathan joined the Watts lab in 2024 to explore the field of nucleic acid therapeutics. Outside of lab, he enjoys rock climbing, paddle boarding, cooking, and reading sci-fi/fantasy novels.
