Yen Anh Nguyen

Yen Anh was born and raised in Vietnam and came to the US to finish her high school education. She received a BS in Biochemistry and BA in Art History from Denison University in Granville, OH. In college, she did research on the function of an RNA thermometer, a post-translation regulatory element in bacterial mRNAs, in the lab of Rachel Mitton-Fry. During her gap years before starting at UMass Chan, Yen Anh worked with Karl Obrietan at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, focusing on the signaling pathway of circadian rhythm in mouse brain. In the Watts Lab, she works on engineering lipid nanoparticles to deliver genome editors as RNA to the brain. Yen Anh is also exploring clinical interests in pediatrics and geriatrics. On the weekends, she enjoys baking, knitting, crocheting, running, and watching football with her family, and dog, Cooper.
