New Abdominal Imaging Chief

Alan Goldstein, MD, Assistant Professor Radiology UMass Chan Medical School

Alan Goldstein New Abdominal Imaging Division Chief

It’s my great pleasure to announce that Dr. Alan Goldstein has agreed to be our new Abdominal Imaging Division Chief.

Alan graduated from Cornell (undergrad) and SUNY Stony Brook Medical School. He completed his Radiology Residency at Yale and Abdominal Imaging fellowship at MGH.

Since joining UMass in July 2016, Alan has helped develop our Body MRI and CT colonography programs. He has become a much sought-after teacher in the first-year DSF course, both in the Anatomy lab, and in teaching ultrasound.

Alan had rapidly gained the respect and confidence of his colleagues, residents and the entire Radiology department staff during the past 2 years for his clinical and organizational skills and mentoring of UMMS students and Radiology residents.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Gopal Vijayaraghavan for all his efforts as the interim Abdominal Division chief during this period of transition.

Please join me in welcoming Alan to this new role.

Best,
Max
