Students help local restaurants create healthy options

WooFood program designates healthy eating choices on menus

In January, medical students Mitchell Li, Matthew DeWolf and Adam Chin received a Building on the Promise: Learn and Serve UMass grant to work with local restaurants on encouraging healthy eating choices among their customers. The trio sat down with UMassMedNow to talk about the tremendous progress the program, called WooFood, has made and how they are working with local business owners on creating a business-friendly model for healthy eating choices.

The Worcester Telegram and Gazette featured the trio in a story about how the Flying Rhino on Shrewsbury Street received its WooFood certification.
