The Lamar Soutter Library (LSL) has issued a new invitation to authors and book editors in the UMass Medical School community to contribute copies of their books to the UMass Authors Collection. Created in 2007, the collection was built in response to a UMMS-wide invitation—accepted by many member s of the UMMS community—to donate copies of books they had authored, edited or co-edited. The UMass Authors Collection is held permanently by the LSL as part of the UMass Chan Archives.
Selections from the UMass Authors Collection will be on display in a special exhibit at Grenon House, the institution’s new home in Worcester, giving the collection increased visibility among UMMS visitors and guests.
If you are interested in contributing a copy of one or more of your books, please contact Ellen More, PhD, director of the LSL’s Office of Medical History and Archives, by at ellen.more@umassmed.edu or 508-856-7633. Books must be received by Oct. 31.
