May Resident Spotlight: Jennifer Trebilcock, MD

In this month’s Resident Spotlight, we feature Jennifer Trebilcock, MD, a second-year Internal Medicine Resident. We recently caught up with Dr. Trebilcock to learn more about her clinical and research interests, what makes UMass Chan a great place for residency, and more!

Hometown?

Naples, FL

What are your clinical and research interests?
My clinical and research interests focus on addressing health disparities among medically underserved populations. I am interested in developing sustainable interventions that empower vulnerable populations and enhance health outcomes on a global scale.

Are you involved in any other groups or activities at UMass Chan that you’d like to highlight?
I am involved in the Women in Medicine group, a resident-led group dedicated to fostering mentorship, empowerment, and advancement of women in medicine.

What makes UMass Chan a great place for your residency?
What makes UMass Chan a great place for residency is the people. The attendings are not only incredibly knowledgeable and supportive, but they also genuinely care about our growth and well-being. My co-residents are an amazing group, kind, collaborative, and always ready to lift each other up. Being surrounded by such a compassionate and driven community makes even the toughest days feel meaningful.

Favorite hobbies?
Traveling, anything fall-related, cooking and trying new recipes, hiking, Peloton classes, and spending time with my cats (Ruth and Binx).

Favorite thing to do in Worcester/Worcester area?
I love trying new restaurants, as the Worcester food scene is top tier. I love going on day trips and exploring nearby towns in the New England area. My goal is to attend at least one game for all the Boston professional sports teams by the end of residency (so far, Celtics and Bruins).

What was your favorite book as a child?
“Because of Winn-Dixie”; I hoped to find a stray dog every time I went to the grocery store with my mom.

In your spare time, what TV show do you binge?
The Real Housewives franchise. I find reality TV a great way to decompress after a long day.

Favorite holiday?

Christmas. I have an obscene amount of Christmas décor.
