UMass Chan PRC can share data from the MDPH COVID-19 Community Impact Survey

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) surveyed over 33,000 people living in Massachusetts to learn more about their experiences during the pandemic during the fall of 2020.

The COVID Community Impact Survey (CCIS) asked questions about people’s experiences meeting their basic needs, housing, employment, access to medical and mental health services.

The UMass Chan Prevention Research Center (PRC) is partnering with MDPH to bring the data to Central Massachusetts! As the Central Massachusetts Technical Assistance Provider, we can data to municipalities, community-based organizations, and other community partners in accessing, analyzing, interpreting, and contextualizing critical health equity data to inform their vaccine efforts, pandemic response, and recovery planning.

Are you looking for Data on a Specific Topic or Population?
Data is available on topics ranging from experiences with COVID-19 to basic needs, access to healthcare, pandemic-related changes in employment, mental health, substance use, discrimination, intimate partner violence, and more. Findings are also broken down by disability, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, geography, income, education, age, industry/occupation, and more.

Do you have questions about the CCIS findings and how to use them? Reach out!

We are available to:
• Share existing CCIS findings and other resources.
• Fulfill customized data requests using the CCIS data. This may include regional/local estimates, population specific health equity analyses, and other analyses not already released on the CCIS website.
• Help you understand and interpret the CCIS data at local and regional levels.
• Support you use the data to make recommendations and take actions.
• Provide information and answer questions about the CCIS, including methodology of the survey, the sample of respondents, and data limitations.
