Chancellor Michael F. Collins has named Kim Canty, assistant vice chancellor for advancement, the recipient of the 2024 Chancellor’s Award for Advancing the UMass Chan Mission.
Chancellor Collins said Canty has been a dedicated and valuable member of the advancement team since 2004. She has served as director of individual giving and director of development and was promoted to her present position last year.
“For two decades, Kim has been a notable, front-facing ambassador for UMass Chan, helping to raise millions in philanthropic dollars,” Collins said. “Her nominator noted that Kim is hard-working, compassionate, committed and attentive, and illustrative of the type of employee we want. She consistently goes above and beyond her daily responsibilities to ensure that UMass Chan remains committed to excellence.”
Canty volunteers in Worcester, her hometown; regularly supports UMass Chan Cares; volunteers at Veterans Inc.; and takes part in the annual UMass Chan initiative to distribute backpacks to elementary school children in Worcester.
