  • Jomol Mathew

    Jomol Mathew

    Dr. Jomol Mathew joins us as the Associate CIO of Data Science  and Technologly. Since 2006, Jomol has been the Director of Clinical & Translational Informatics at the Dana-Farber. There, she transformed an IT focused team into an information partner with the clinicians and researchers. Jomol completed her postdoctoral fellowship in Biostatistics and Bioinformatics in 2003 from NYU School of Medicine. She completed her Ph.D. in 2001 from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Jomol’s M.Sc. and B.Sc are from KAU, Thrissur, India. Jomol has extensive experience developing complex clinical data systems, including data warehouses, i2b2, biospecimen management systems, clinical trials management systems (CTMS), and data visualization frameworks. She spearheaded the implementation and adoption of OnCore at the Dana-Farber. To get a sense of Jomol’s vision for using data in research, read her paper entitled “From bytes to bedside: Data integration and computational biology for translational research.”Jomol impressed the many people who interviewed her with her accomplishments, and with her strong spirit of collaboration. Jomol will oversee the entire Research Computing team, including our High Performance Computing, Clinical Data Management, and Lab IT Support teams.

  • Mary Barton

    Mary Barton

    Administrative Assistant

    Mary Barton is an Administrative Assistant with over 25 years in the field and has been employed with UMass Chan Medical School for 15 plus years. She has extensive experience with all administrative tasks, including: scheduling, correspondence, contracts, purchase orders, management of procurement processes of all capital and operational expenditures and more. Having held this position in the IT department within UMass for 15 years, Mary is able to tailor her skills to meet the needs of various employees within the organization. She is a self-starter with proven abilities in helping uncomplicated the lives of co-workers and management. In addition to her duties as an Administrative Assistant, some of Mary’s outside interests are: gardening, cooking, baking, watching football, photography, science-fi and horror movies.

  • Paul Langlois

    Paul Langlois

    Director of Research Computing

    Paul has over 12 years of software engineering experience. He has worked as a lead software engineer in financial, insurance, and energy conservation industries. Paul has been responsible for overseeing the development of large enterprise-wide applications including centralized cloud-based services. His career thus far has been propelled by identifying, building and leading teams which bear skillful technologists, innovative thinkers and great camaraderie. He is extremely passionate about exploring cutting edge software and information systems. “I constantly yearn for knowledge, whether it’s next generation databases, business intelligence breakthroughs, or hobby robotics.” Paul received a bachelor of science degree in computer science and has a master’s degree in Business Administration and Technological Innovation. Interests include: Robotics, Soccer, Back-country hiking.

  • Vincent Lee

    Vincent Lee

    Manager of Clinical Research Technologies

    Vincent Lee, joined UMass Chan IT in October 2014 as a senior product owner working with multiple scrum teams in Engineering and Academic Technology groups. During his time as a Product Owner, he truly advocates for his customers and inspires his teams in delivering quality IT solutions to many clients on campus including Center for Mindfulness (Teacher Certification Program), Office of School Services (Summer Outreach) and Office of Undergraduate Medical Education (NEGEA Mobile App). More recently, he is responsible for leading the institutional effort on implementing the Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS) which went live in October 2016. Vincent previously worked at Wolters Kluwer Financial Service as a Senior Product Manager prior coming to UMass Chan IT, and he has over 15 years of IT experience.
