Welcome to the Bucci Lab at the UMass Chan Medical School!

With our research we are aiming to understand the mechanisms of temporal and spatial dynamics within complex biological systems. Implementing mathematical modeling and machine learning, we are developing new bioinformatic tools in order to predict interactions within microbial communities and their contribution to host phenotypes. In a targeted approach, we are utilizing engineered bacterial strains or whole consortia to redirect the host associated microbiome towards a healthier state.
