Mission Statement

The University of Massachusetts Police Department in Worcester is committed to provide a safe and secure environment in which students, faculty, staff, patients and visitors can conduct their activities. The Department uses a community oriented philosophy, and our Officers patrol the University & adjacent roads 24 hours a day, seven days per week in cruisers, on foot and on bikes.

All Police Officers are sworn under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 75. Section 32A, have the same law enforcement authority as State & Municipal Police, and are trained at Municipal Police Academies.

THE UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS POLICE STATION IS LOCATED ON THE 2ND FLOOR OF THE SOUTH PARKING GARAGE (pedestrian entrance ground floor), AND IS OPENED & STAFFED 24 HOURS PER DAY, 365 DAYS PER YEAR.
