Charlotte DeLeo, MD - Laurel House Mentor

DeLeo

Dr. Charlotte DeLeo grew up in the Berkshires with her parents and three brothers. She attended Boston University for undergraduate studies and then completed both a Masters in Medical Sciences and Masters in Public Health with a concentration in International Health also at BU. She attended medical school at UMass Chan and was fortunate to experience being a part of our Learning Communities herself as a student. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at UMass in 2018. She worked for one year at Harrington Hospital and subsequently returned to UMass as faculty. She is grateful for the opportunity to come full circle as an LC Mentor.  

Charlotte is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine. She works clinically in the ED with a goal to provide high quality, efficient and patient-centered care via a cohesive team-based approach. Her areas of interest are also focused on providing on-shift clinical learning opportunities to medical students and residents of all years with an aim to help foster their clinical competency, confidence and personal growth. She has been recognized for her teaching by receiving the Resident/Fellow Award for Medical Student Education in 2018. She was also awarded the EM Department Resident Humanism in Medicine Award as a graduating resident in 2018 and the EM Department Faculty Humanism in Medicine Award in 2020.  

 Charlotte lives in Princeton MA with her husband Scott and their mini-dachshunds Teddy and Max. In her free time, you’ll probably find her running/marathon training or alpine skiing including competitively. She also spends time outside mountain or road biking, paddleboarding and golfing. She also enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, both whenever possible.
