Date Posted: Monday, May 10, 2021

Xu and ThompsonZuoshang Xu and Paul Thompson receive a new NIH RO1 award to study protein citrullination and its role in ALS, a fatal neurodegenerative disease. ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. It causes paralysis and death and is currently incurable. The Xu and Thompson labs aim to understand the changes in protein citrullination during the ALS progression and investigate the effects of these changes.
