Running Club? What’s that?

The UMass Chan Medical School Running Club will, most simply, be a community of students who enjoy running. The group will plan weekly runs, participate in races (2-3 per year), volunteer at local running events (2 per year) and host presentations on sports medicine, fitness and nutrition (2-4 per year). Additionally, it will connect students with a shared interest in running, enabling them to plan group runs and social events as well as providing a network of encouragement (because sometimes running before class just doesn’t sound like that much fun). The group’s larger mission will be to encourage health and fitness within the student population and, in time, within the UMass and Worcester communities at large. The group will be open to runners of all abilities, from those who run occasionally to those who train and compete in running races often.
