Patrice M. Muchowski, ScD

Senior Vice President of Clinical Services, AdCare President, AdCare Educational Institute

Dr. Patrice M. Muchowski is the Senior Vice President of Clinical Services for the AdCare system which includes AdCare Hospital, a private alcohol and drug specialty hospital in Massachusetts and AdCare Rhode Island, a detoxification and residential facility in Rhode Island. Dr. Muchowski is the President of AdCare Educational Institute which provides training in Massachusetts, Vermont and Maine to addiction professionals and other human service providers.

Dr. Muchowski is a psychologist in the state of Massachusetts, a Massachusetts Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in Rhode Island, and holds a Certificate of Proficiency in the Treatment of Alcohol and Other Psychoactive Substance Use Disorders from the American Psychological Association.

Dr. Muchowski has worked in the alcohol and drug treatment field since 1974 and has extensive experience in various treatment settings, including outpatient and inpatient programs within both the public and private sector as well as correctional settings. She has presented at numerous conferences and has extensive experience in the area of women and addiction as well as dual diagnosis treatment and has served on numerous boards

Dr. Muchowski has held various faculty appointments at Rutgers University, New England Institute of Addiction Studies, Westfield State College and Clinical Instructor in Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry, Harvard University.  Currently an Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry in the  T.H. Chan School of Medicine at UMass Chan Medical School.
