A traveling exhibit to raise awareness about the All of Us Research Program and the opportunity for community members to participate in the historic National Institutes of Health precision medicine initiative will be at two locations in Worcester. Visitors can view the All of Us Journey Mobile Exhibit at the Central Community branch YMCA at 766 Main Street on Friday, May 31, from noon to 5 p.m., and the Ecotarium at 222 Harrington Way on Saturday, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eligible adults can also sign up to participate in the All of Us Research Program during their visit.
UMass Medical School is participating in the National Institutes of Health All of Us Research Program with other Central Massachusetts health care providers. All of Us is an unprecedented effort to gather data from one million or more people living in the United States to uncover paths toward delivering precision medicine, which is health care tailored to the individual receiving it. The data collected will become a national resource for investigators to find better ways to predict, prevent and treat disease.
The program is open to people both healthy and sick, from all communities. Unlike a single research study focused on a specific disease or community, All of Us will serve as a national research resource to inform thousands of studies, covering a wide range of health conditions.
The mobile exhibit is on a 37-week national tour to help prospective study participants learn about precision medicine, research and the All of Us Research Program.
