Dec. 12 forum at UMMS to provide update on state, national health care policy

Members of the UMass Medical School community are invited to attend a discussion on health care policy and access entitled, “Chaos in State and Federal Health Policy: What’s Going on and What Does It Mean for Us?” on Tuesday, Dec. 12.

The presentation will update participants on the status of Massachusetts and national health care reform initiatives, and the potential impact of these changes on patients and health care providers.

Health policy expert and advisor Jay Himmelstein, MD, MPH, will moderate the discussion. Dr. Himmelstein, professor of family medicine & community health and chief federal strategist for Commonwealth Medicine, has conducted extensive health policy research and has served as an advocate for the state and federal governments.

The event is being developed by MD/PhD student and Community Engagement Committee member Nathaniel Erskine, and is sponsored by the Diversity & Inclusion Office.
