Graduate School of Nursing ranked among top nursing schools nationwide

The Graduate School of Nursing at UMass Medical School is named one of the top nursing schools in the country in the inaugural rankings of Nursing Schools Almanac. The online nursing education resource ranked the GSN first overall in New England, 18th in the United States andeighth among public nursing schools in its analysis.

With its mission to help aspiring nurses select a nursing school, NursingSchoolsAlmanac.com has organized a wealth of state- and city-specific information about nursing education.

The research team at Nursing Schools Almanac collected data on more than 3,200 nursing schools and campuses throughout the United States and evaluated each school on three dimensions: the institution’s academic prestige and perceived value; the breadth and depth of nursing programs offered; and student success, particularly on the NCLEX national licensure exam. Just 10 percent made the final list.

Accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, the GSN stands out as the only publicly funded nursing school in the commonwealth with a sole focus on graduate education. Its Graduate Entry Pathway program has boasted an exceptional NCLEX pass rate of 97.6 percent over the past seven years.
