Paul L. Jeffrey, PharmD, a UMass Medical School pharmacy director, has been named chair-elect of the Eastern Medicaid Pharmacy Administrators Association (EMPAA).
Elected at its November 2013 meeting, Dr. Jeffrey will serve for two years as EMPAA’s chair-elect, advancing to the role of chair, also for two years. He previously held the positions of chair-elect and chair from 2004-2007. EMPAA is a not-for-profit association of representative members from state Medicaid pharmacy programs in the northeast United States.
Jeffrey is pharmacy director of the Office of Clinical Affairs within the Center for Health Policy and Research (CHPR) of UMass Medical School. In his position at CHPR, Jeffrey serves as director of pharmacy for the Massachusetts Medicaid program, MassHealth. Jeffrey provides broad clinical support to MassHealth, and has introduced innovative programs in the areas of opioids and pain management as well as behavioral and mental health.
