Santorelli takes mindfulness message to New York City

Earlier this month, Saki Santorelli, EdD, associate professor of medicine and executive director of the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society, joined Ohio Congressman Tim Ryan at the Manhattan JCC for a discussion about the power of mindfulness to reduce stress, improve performance and “recapture the American spirit.” Congressman Ryan is the author of a recently released book called A Mindful Nation. Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, professor emeritus of medicine and founder of the Center for Mindfulness, wrote the forward to the book.

According to Dr. Santorelli, it was a rousing discussion attended by more than 200 people. A podcast of the event is available here.
