Coat drive to benefit Worcester Refuge Assistance Project

The Worcester Refugee Assistance Project (WRAP) is holding a coat drive to benefit the population it serves—refugees from Burma who have settled in the Worcester area. WRAP is a network of volunteers committed to helping these refugees achieve self‐reliance through mentoring, advocacy and material support. It was co-founded by GSN student Meredith Nash and includes many volunteers from all three UMMS schools.

“We are hoping to collect 200+ coats to distribute to these families before the weather becomes too cold. We are looking for kids, teen and adult coats and any other type of winter gear,” said WRAP volunteer and fourth-year medical student Christine Tam.

The drive runs through Friday, Dec. 16, with collection bins located in the Medical School in the new lobby, the student affairs entrance and the medical student lounge, and in the LRB lobby.
