We are thrilled that our lab represented by Florie Borel received the Outstanding Poster Award at ASGCT 2016 in Washington, DC for our poster: "Genome editing to generate the first mouse model of alpha-one antitrypsin deficiency, the leading cause of genetic COPD".

In this poster, we described how we generated and characterized the first AAT knockout mouse model using the CRISPR/Cas9 technology. Up to now, there was no mouse model for alpha-one antitrypsin deficiency lung disease, and these mice will be valuable to test new therapeutics including gene therapy and genome editing.
