John Straus Receives Maternal Mental Health Hero Award

ThumbnailJohn Straus, MD, Founding Director of the Massachusetts Child Psychiatry Access Program (MCPAP), is 2020 Mom’s Inaugural winner of the Maternal Mental Health Hero Award. Dr. Straus is the mind and heart behind MCPAP, which has inspired and been the model for Maternal Mental Health doctor-to-doctor consultation programs across the U.S.

In this video watch the award being presented to pediatrician John Straus, the father of the telepsychiatry consultation movement, for laying the groundwork for the maternal telepsychiatry consultation programs which are beginning to take hold across the country. We will learn about how this work began and why it’s so important in a dialogue with Dr. Straus and Dr. Nancy Byatt, Executive Director of Lifeline for Moms and Medical Director for MCPAP for Moms.
