DeLeo

Dr. Charlotte DeLeo grew up in the Berkshires with her parents and three brothers. She attended Boston University for undergrad then completed both a Masters in Medical Sciences and Masters in Public Health also at BU. She attended medical school at UMass Chan and was fortunate to experience being a part of our Learning Communities herself as a student. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at UMass in 2018. She is very grateful for the opportunity to come full circle as an LC Mentor.

Charlotte is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine. She works clinically in the ED with a goal to provide high quality, efficient and patient-centered care via a cohesive team-based approach. Her areas of interest are also focused on providing on-shift clinical learning opportunities to medical students and residents of all years with an aim to help foster their clinical competency, confidence and personal growth. She has been recognized for her teaching by receiving the Resident/Fellow Award for Medical Student Education in 2018. She was also awarded the EM Department Resident Humanism in Medicine Award as a graduating resident in 2018, the EM Department Faculty Humanism in Medicine Award in 2020, 2025 and the EM UME Excellence in Teaching Award in 2025.

Outside work, in her free time you will likely find her outside running, skiing, signing up for some sort of race, biking, traveling, spending time with family and with her adorable mini-dachshunds Teddy & Max.
