Areas of Interest and Research: Dr. Dykhouse's background is in primary care psychology and health psychology. She is particularly interested in the provision of culturally and linguistically appropriate care and has experience working with interpreters as well as practicing directly in Spanish.


 
 
 



Michael P. Smith, MS

Michael is a graduate of Bowdoin College and holds a master's degree in  Communications from Clark University. A native of Peabody, MA, Michael was an undergraduate admissions officer at Worcester Polytechnic Institute for more than a decade prior to joining our residency in 2008. He is responsible for our annual resident selection process and manages the residencies' web/electronic communications. Michael is also a freelance writer for the Family Medicine Education Consortium. He resides near Worcester with his wife and their two children.

"I have been with UMass for 16 years. I have worked my entire career with 3rd and 4th year medical students in some capacity or other. I have lived in the Worcester area for 30+ years so I consider myself at home here. When I am not working, I dedicate all my time to my family, friends and my passion for photography. I am an animal lover and a big baseball fan. I love to experience other cultures and travel."

A New York native, Hilda was raised in Southbridge, MA. She worked most recently at UMass Memorial Hospital, Department of Surgical Oncology prior to joining our residency in 2019. Hilda received her Associate of Science degree, Business Administration, from Quinsigamond Community College in December, 2018. Hilda is a die-hard New England Patriots fan. Her hobbies include photography and reading. She is a dog lover, collects anything with elephants and enjoys spending time with her family.
