Meet Our 2020-21 Fellows

Hannah Girard, DNP, FNP-BC, MPH, MA
Dr. Girard was raised in the northern Berkshires of rural western Massachusetts. She earned degrees in Communication Arts and Modern Foreign Languages at Gordon College. She graduated from Arcadia University with a Master of Public Health in Community Health as well as a Master of Arts in International Peace & Conflict Resolution with a certificate in Restorative Justice. Her theses focused on trauma resilience psychoeducation and nonprofit program evaluation respectively. She is also a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School Graduate School of Nursing where she received her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) as a board-certified family nurse practitioner.

Her capstone explored antimicrobial stewardship in a community health center. She has worked around the world as a public health practitioner and nurse clinician with diverse populations, many of whom are also disproportionately impacted by HIV and Viral Hepatitis, which spurred her on to pursue fellowship training and expand her ability to collaborate with and advocate for persons experiencing health disparities.

Thanh Thu Ngo, MD
Dr. Ngo was originally born in Vietnam, but grew up in Boston, MA. After graduating from Wellesley College with a major in biology and minor in economics, she spent 2 years working as a research coordinator at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in the renal department. She then went on to medical school at Umass in Worcester, where she fell in love with the community health center model of patient care while rotating at the Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center.

She subsequently stayed at Umass to complete a family medicine residency with outpatient clinic based at Family Health Center of Worcester.  She looks forward to continuing to provide comprehensive general care as well as more specialized services to patients living with HIV and viral hepatitis at Family Health Center and beyond.
