The CTI section has a highly active research program. The section holds weekly research meetings, including both didactic sessions and work-in-progress presentations. The section is a recognized leader in several areas of CTI-research. The section also provides a robust research infrastructure and is currently partnering with a substantial number of industry partners, notably in the field of artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer-aided detection and -characterization, and image processing. The CTI section serves as a center of excellence for several of these industry partners.
Each fellow is encouraged to perform one original research project under the guidance of our faculty members. Fellows will be allotted ½ day academic time/week dedicated to research, pending approval of a research topic and a written proposal. Fellows are encouraged to submit their research to a peer-reviewed journal and submit educational and research abstracts to national meetings such as STR, NASCI, and RSNA.
