Undergraduate Medical Education
Faculty members from the Division of Geriatric Medicine are very involved in numerous educational initiatives at the undergraduate medical education level which include:

Geriatrics Interest Group
The student-led Geriatric Interest Group for first- and second-year medical students and nursing students provide lectures for medical and graduate nursing students on topics related to the care of older adults.
Flexible Professional Experience
In this joint effort between the Divisions of Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Care Medicine third-year medical students may select to participate in a one-week clinical rotation in ‘The Care of the Older Adult in the Home’. This experience allows the medical student to learn more about geriatric medicine, palliative care, and the inter-professional team within the home.
Fourth-Year Elective
Fourth-year medical students can participate in a two-week geriatric elective. This experience includes clinical experiences with geriatricians, nurse practitioners, and members of the inter-professional team in the clinic, skilled nursing facility and home care settings.
