Fernanda Gama

Fernanda Gama (she/her/hers) is project coordinator, a role she has held for 11 years. Gama has worked at UMass Chan Medical School for more than 21 years. She supports the Committee on Equal Opportunity and Diversity and its 10 subcommittees. She works closely with each committee’s co-chairs to guide and assist with achieving goals and objectives; planning and executing each committee’s educational programs; and serves as the liaison between the co-chairs and the vice chancellor for diversity and inclusion. She supports many DIO initiatives and manages large institutional events, such as Hispanic Heritage Month, the annual Martin Luther King celebration, the International Festival and others. She has a bachelor’s degree in general studies from UMass Amherst.
