Mohamad Omar Rachid

Omar grew up in Saida, Lebanon and received his BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. During his undergraduate studies, Omar’s education focused on biomedical devices such as CPR guidance devices and premature babies’ glucose monitors. Following graduation, he wanted to learn more about RNA biology, and joined Julia Alterman’s team in the Khvorova Lab as a research associate. Omar’s work focuses on extrahepatic delivery of siRNA, specifically to skin. Outside of lab, Omar enjoys playing video games, football (soccer), and baking pizzas.
