Fellowship in Medical Education

The UMass Chan Emergency Medicine Education Fellowship

Our medical education fellowship is a focused two year experience designed to provide specialized training to EM residency graduates interested in seeking advanced training in Medical Education. Our mission is to develop physician leaders in academic emergency medicine while providing them with the skill set to adapt to the continuously evolving educational landscape and become premier innovators in their field. Fellows will obtain a Master’s in Education in Health Professions and work clinical shifts in our busy, high acuity Emergency Departments overseeing residents and medical students. Moreover, they will receive focused training in the following areas of both graduate and undergraduate medical education: curriculum development, bedside and classroom teaching, provision of effective feedback, mentorship, learner assessment, research, as well as design and administration of educational programs. Importantly, the Program Director and Associate Program Director will encourage the fellow to explore areas of interest and will continue to tailor the curriculum based on their unique goals and objectives.
