Date Posted: Wednesday, April 23, 2014

UMass Chan Medical School has reached a 30-year agreement to pay for up to 12 megawatts of solar power generated from arrays being developed by First Wind, Major Energy, Greenhouse Solar and Hecate Solar in Massachusetts. Over the course of the 30-year agreement, UMMS is projected to save a third off its current energy costs—an equivalent of $715,000 annually at today’s rates.
