Research Focus - Prevention of Colonic Inflammation and Colon Cancer
- Identification of novel therapeutic targets of colonic inflammation and colon cancer, using LC-MS/MS-based metabolomics to systematically profile fatty acid metabolism in colonic inflammation and colon cancer, and then using pharmacological and genetic approaches to validate the roles of the identified metabolic pathways involved
- Identification of novel environmental risk factors of colonic inflammation and colon cancer by studying how exposure to environmental compounds alters gut microbiota to increase the risk of these diseases
