Resident Recruitment Program

Thank you for your interest in the University of Massachusetts Medical School's (UMMS) Resident Recruitment Program (RRP).  The RRP's goal is to enhance the diversity of our residents and residency programs in order to better serve Worcester County's growing multi-cultural population. The Program is sponsored by the Office of Student Affairs/Diversity and Minority Affairs.

The UMMS Resident Recruitment Program is pleased to offer 4th year under represented medical students from Allopathic/LCME and Osteopathic/AOA accredit schools the opportunity to participate in a four-week subsidized elective with UMass Memorial Health Care and its' affiliated hospitals. This is a great opportunity for 4th year medical students to view our residency programs first hand.  We general take about 5 students per year.  We do require that your elective is in the specialty you are applying in for residency. A list of our Residency Programs can be found at www.umassmed.edu/gme/residency/listing

Below are the University's Elective dates for academic year 2009 - 2010. A list of UMass electives can be found on our website at www.umassmed.edu/studentaffairs/electives .
