Greetings from the University of Massachusetts Medical School Chapter of the Student National Medical Association.

It is with great pleasure that we serve as the host chapter of the 2009 Region VII Annual Medical Education Conference during the weekend of November 14, 2009.

The SNMA is the nation's oldest and largest student organization focusing on the interests and concerns of students of color. Among our national initiatives are issues of access to health care, health inequalities, and diversity in higher education amongst many others. SNMA is comprised of 10 national regions, each one of these regions organizes a regional conference that takes place at a school of medicine in the region.  This year the New England Regional conference will take place on November 14, 2009 at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, in Worcester, MA.  The title of this years conference is:

"Closing the Gaps: Emerging Models in Primary Care"

This conference will highlight how progress and new developments in primary care are innovating health care delivery.  Through workshops and speaker sessions, participants will have an opportunity to actively engage in discussions at a nationally recognized primary care institution, the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

We hope that you will be able to join us this year for an enjoyable and enlightening weekend.  Registration forms can be download form our website at www.SNMAumassmed.org .
