Description: Therapy House Calls: Effective Treatment in the Home for Families Experiencing Trauma and Loss (House Calls) will improve access and quality of mental health care for children and families who are experiencing symptoms stemming from trauma or loss. In order to meet this goal, the project will develop an application of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for use in the setting of In-Home Therapy, a model of community-based mental health treatment in which patients receive intensive psychotherapy in their own homes. In addition to improving access, this application will offer significant advantages for selected patients over the usual outpatient form of TF-CBT by addressing the impact of trauma on the entire family unit. The treatment will then be disseminated through trainings and on-going and consultation.
