Inpatient Services

Hospitalization can be an ideal window of opportunity for assisting patients with their tobacco use. Many patients already view this time as a possible “headstart” for quitting their tobacco use.

The less nicotine withdrawal the patient is enduring the more pleasant patient experience they will have and the fewer patient care complications providers are likely to encounter.

The following services are available to patients during a bedside consultation:

  • Readiness to Quit Assessment
  • Collaborative Quit Plan
  • Suggestions for Nicotine Replacement Therapy
  • Carbon Monoxide (CO) Test
  • Quitworks and Outpatient Referrals
  • Educational Literature

Residents or medical students that are interested in developing their skills in this critical area are welcome to join us for a shadowing experience.
