Quitworks – A free, confidential service provides telephonic coaching, support, and assistance for quitting smoking. Two free weeks of patches are offered for those who are eligible. A great service for those with mobility or transportation issues.

MA insurance coverage for smoking cessation services – This listing of public and private insurance coverage for medications and/or counseling for smoking cessation. Always check with your individual plan as coverage can vary.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - EAP offers free, convenient, confidential smoking cessation services from a certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist (TTS) for UMass employee and volunteers.

Nicotine-Anonymous (NA)- Nicotine Anonymous is a Non-Profit 12 Step Fellowship of men and women helping each other live nicotine-free lives. Adapted from the AA model. Check website for local meetings.

Tobacco-Free Nurses: Tobacco Free Nurses is the first national program created with the objectives of helping nurses quit, providing resources to nurses who want to help their patients quit and to promote tobacco control in the agenda of nursing organizations.

Become an EX – Focuses more on the “hows” of quitting rather than the “whys.” This interactive site allows users to create a personal profile, use the chat room, and check out online videos. Become an ex was created by leading experts in smoking cessation.

Massachusetts Smokers’ Helpline- Provides free one-on-one support; Information about local quit smoking groups and in-person support options; Advice about quit-smoking medicines.

Worcester Community Smoking Cessation Resource Guide- The resource guide contains information on: 1) How to talk to your doctor about becoming tobacco-free; 2) How to determine eligibility of health insurance benefits; 3) Information on medication options; and 4) Local resources including telephone counseling and support, group and individual counseling, education and support meetings, and web resources.
